Description
Villa del Ponte is a splendid 12th-century property, located within a large park (35,000 sqm) in the Val d'Arbia (province of Siena).
The villa is easily reachable from Via Cassia that connects Siena to Buonconvento, and moreover is accessed through an electronic gate, ensuring the utmost privacy.
The road to the the property is unpaved but in good condition.
Inside the park you will find a private swimming pool (5 x 18 m), surrounded by the lawn and equipped with parasol and sunbeds. The swimming pool has also an electric security cover with a double function: it provides peace of mind for families with children, and keeps the water warm at night. The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May to mid-October.
Villa del Ponte, which has been carefully restored, also boasts a tennis court for the exclusive use of guests.
Among the outdoor spaces, there is a loggia provided with a dining table, to relax while enjoying the surrounding countryside.
At guests' disposal also: 5 bicycles and a barbecue for tasty grills with friends.

Attractions
Immersed in one of the most beautiful Tuscan landscape, Villa del Ponte is located in the Val d'Arbia, just 4 km away from Buonconvento and 17 km from Montalcino.
The nearest village is Ponte d'Arbia (550 m), located along Via Cassia, characterized by the bridge that crosses the Arbia stream and nearby there is a mill, now converted into a hotel, and a small chapel.
Buonconvento is one of Italy's most beautiful towns, situated along the ancient Via Francigena. Here you can find a supermarket and many kind of shops (butcher, pharmacy, bakery, greengrocer and ice cream shop...).
Montalcino, known for the production of the "Brunello" wine, is characterized by pristine streets and stunning landscapes. Furthermore we also recommend a visit to the nearby abbey of Sant’Antimo, extraordinary example of Romanesque Lombard-French architecture built in onyx and alabaster.
We suggest to reach the nearby Val d'Orcia, recognized in 2004 as UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area is quintessential Tuscany, studded with delightful medieval villages, stone cottages, gentle hills, vineyards, olive groves, cypresses and grazing sheep.
Among the hill towns of this area you will find:
- Castiglione d'Orcia, a medieval village located on a steep rocky hill upon which stands the fortress of Tentennano;
- Pienza, the town of Pius II, famous for the "pecorino cheese", and also the set of Franco Zeffirelli's “Romeo and Juliet” movie;
- San Quirico d'Orcia, the heart of the Val d'Orcia and one of the most remarkable examples of medieval town planning.
- Montepulciano, thermal center with regal palaces, as well as the home of “Vino Nobile”.
Among Val d'Arbia are the renowned “Crete Senesi”, adored by photographers, poets and tourists from all over the world. Crete are a landscape of metaphysical beauty characterized by typical undulations clayey eroded by weather events. A good observation point to enjoy this beauty is the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, a place of meditation and prayer, surrounded by woods, where you can admire the frescoes by Sodoma and Signorelli.
It is also worth visiting Siena and its surroundings: here you will find other medieval gems, of incomparable charm and still remained intact, like San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and San Galgano.

Interior Description
The property (650 sqm), spread over 2 floors, has been tastefully renovated and its interior design combines antique furnishings with every modern comfort. The villa can accommodate up to 10 people for a total of 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
Ground floor: The ground floor is dedicated to the living area. After an entrance corridor, in fact, you will find: a living room with fireplace and piano; an elegantly furnished dining room with a beautiful chandelier; a fully equipped kitchen.
A guest bathroom makes the rest of the floor.
First floor: The upper floor is accessible by stairs. On the left of the stairs, there is a second fully equipped kitchen with a dining table; a double bedroom overlooking the courtyard with ensuite bathroom with shower; a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
On the right of the stairs there is another living room with sofas, satellite TV and a working fireplace.
Following is a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (with shower and bathtub) and views of the surrounding countryside; another double bedroom overlooking the countryside and garden, with ensuite bathroom (with shower).
Going up 4 steps you reach a twin bedroom overlooking the courtyard, with 2 single beds (that can be joined) and ensuite bathroom (with shower).
Spa: You can freely access the nearby spa, located in a separate building and shared with the guests of Villa la Rondine. The spa includes: state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room, hot tub for 6 people and a relax area with sofa and TV.
The owner of the villa will help in coordinating the spa accesses among the guests of the 2 villas.
Included free Wi-Fi. All bedrooms and the living room on the first floor are equipped with air conditioning. Small and medium-sized pets are allowed on request.
