The Estate At the Glance
The Palazzo della Vigna Vecchia, dating back to the second half of the 16th century, is perfectly located in Via Della Vigna Vecchia in the heart of the centre of Florence. The building's façade is one of the most striking elements of the entire square. The wall decoration consists of beautiful paintings depicting allegorical illustrations, putti, flowers, arabesques and plant elements. In this district there are streets full of shops, delicious restaurants and within a few minutes' walk you can reach the most important monuments in Florence.

Attractions
The building is located in the Santa Maria Novella and Tornabuoni districts on the eastern edge of the historic centre of Florence. The area is named after one of the city's most important churches. The district of Santa Maria Novella and Tornabuoni offers a rare glimpse of the 'old' Florence with lively markets and small craft and leather shops, including the Mercato delle Pulci in Piazza dei Ciompi. The Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio, the city's second largest food market after the Mercato di San Lorenzo, is also within walking distance. In addition, the area is within walking distance of some of the city's main cultural attractions such as Palazzo del Bargello, which houses one of Italy's most important museums, Casa Buonarroti (Michelangelo's former home), Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, not to mention the magnificent church and museum of Santa Croce. In addition, you can enjoy the city's largest selection of shops, bars, typical restaurants and pizzerias. Three of the best and most expensive restaurants, Cibreo, Pinchiorri and Alle Murate, are nearby. There is also a good choice of medium-priced options. At night, Santa Croce becomes one of the liveliest areas of the city and, with its pedestrian streets and illuminated buildings, turns into the perfect place for an after-dinner glass of wine or an evening stroll. For those who choose a flat in this area, Santa Croce offers several grocery shops, supermarkets, laundries and souvenir shops, as well as being adequately served by the local public transport service.

Parking
The centre of Florence is a ZTL zone, i.e. a 'restricted traffic zone', and therefore special rules apply for access to this area. This flat in particular is located within the ZTL zone, so if you plan to come to Florence by car and wish to circulate and park, you will need to pay particular attention to road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (which will show a red/green traffic light) to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel by car within the ZTL zone to reach their flat are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one closest to the flat they are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify that they need access to the ZTL zone and the garage will take note of the vehicle's registration number and forward it to the relevant police station.
