It is there that Villa Carminia reveals itself: three levels of light and white, stone and wood, a view that stretches as far as Capri and a rarefied intimacy that smells of Mediterranean scrub. A contemporary retreat for those who desire the privilege of being high up — the view, the silence, the privacy — without giving up the rhythm of the most cosmopolitan village on the coast. The villa dominates a panoramic spot above Positano; the centre, with its boutiques, restaurants and beaches, is about a twenty-minute drive away, and from there the hydrofoil is the most elegant way to hop from bay to bay or head for Capri.
Upon arrival, the main terrace is the first statement of intent: a sun deck for al fresco dining and aperitifs at blue hour, a small heated infinity pool — 3x4 m — that seems to pour into the Tyrrhenian Sea and invites slow rituals: a dip in the morning, a warm swim at sunset, a barefoot stroll between chaise longues and parasols. The villa accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom; the living area includes a hall, living room and kitchen; the infinity pool is heated (October–March with a typical range of 26–29 °C). Daily housekeeping, garden and pool care, porter service on arrival/departure, Wi-Fi and A/C are included, as is final cleaning. In some suites, the bathrooms have a whirlpool bath; outside, there is a BBQ and alfresco dining. A shuttle to the centre of Positano is available as an extra service; the nearest secure car park is about 300 metres away (for a fee). Two insider tips. The pool is more of a panoramic plunge pool than a swimming pool: perfect for cooling off, contemplating, taking pictures that look like a painting.
